Dana White prefers to see Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler, not Jorge Masvidal

“There’s plenty of fights to make, I don’t know if that’s the one, but we’ll see what the landscape looks like when Conor comes back.”

[autotag]Dana White[/autotag] still isn’t keen on seeing [autotag]Conor McGregor[/autotag] return against [autotag]Jorge Masvidal[/autotag].

Although it would be a bout between the sports biggest star and arguably the second biggest draw, White insists that [autotag]Michael Chandler[/autotag] vs. McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) makes more sense.

With McGregor putting on significant size and eyeing a return at 170 pounds, that would dismiss White’s prior notion that McGregor is too small for Masvidal (35-16 MMA, 12-9 UFC), but it appears White needs more convincing.

“I don’t know, I really like Chandler vs. Conor after Chandler’s last fight,” White told TMZ. “There’s plenty of fights to make, I don’t know if that’s the one, but we’ll see what the landscape looks like when Conor comes back.”

Chandler (23-7 MMA, 2-2 UFC) cut an epic promo after scoring a highlight-reel front kick knockout of Tony Ferguson at UFC 274. He proceeded to call McGregor out, which had White sold on the fight.

“I’m just saying after his last interview, his last fight, Conor’s ranked No. 8, he’s ranked No. 5, it makes a lot of sense right now,” White added.

White provided an update on McGregor, who’s currently healing from a broken fibula which he suffered in a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier last July at UFC 264. According to the UFC president, we may not see “The Notorious” until next year.

“I think he’s getting better, he’s starting to ramp up his training some more and I’m hoping at the end of this year, early next year,” White said.
