Dan Lanning talks defensive dominance, Bo Nix, and keeping the standard

It became apparent midway through the first half of the Oregon Ducks blowout over the Colorado Buffaloes Saturday afternoon that this one might have meant a little bit more for Dan Lanning and his team.

While there was a ton of hype for the game coming in, most of the attention was on Deion Sanders and his team, rather than the higher-ranked Ducks. With what Colorado had been able to do this season, it was understandable, but you could sense that the Ducks were unhappy being overlooked.

When the ABC telecast showed part of Lanning’s pregame speech during the first half, where the UO coach remarked that Colorado was “fighting for clicks” while Oregon was “fighting for wins,” it became very apparent that the Ducks were ready to put on a show.

And that, they did.

42-6 was the final score, and it wasn’t until the final minutes of the game that the Buffaloes got on the board. As Coach Prime said after the game…

“That was a good old-fashioned butt-kicking.”

Lanning talked after the game as well, and went into his own excitement about the game, and where his team can improve going forward. Here are the most notable quotes following the victory.
