Dan Hooker fires back at Jon Jones: ‘If you don’t beat up your wife, family events will be more enjoyable’

Dan Hooker has fired back in a big way at Jon Jones, stating “If you don’t beat up your wife, family events will be more enjoyable.”

[autotag]Dan Hooker[/autotag] apparently did not take too kindly to a few afternoon remarks from [autotag]Jon Jones[/autotag].

After the former UFC light heavyweight champion called out Hooker today for some recent jabs on Twitter, “The Hangman” delivered a social media assault of his own, and he pulled no punches.

I was triggered by your disingenuous attempt to bring attention to Chael’s situation. He was arrested for defending his wife, you were arrested for assaulting yours. 🍎 & 🍊

Life hack: if you don’t beat up your wife, family events will be more enjoyable. Merry Xmas bitch.

Hooker initiated the back-and-forth messages earlier this week, taking a swipe at “Bones” after reports emerged of Chael Sonnen being involved in an altercation in Las Vegas that prompted police involvement.

Sonnen reportedly was issued five battery citations following the incident, and Hooker took a shot at Jones when details emerged that “The American Gangster” was actually defending his wife in the melee.

Imagine beating up 5 people and not one of them is your wife. (JJones RN 🤯)

Jones was arrested in Las Vegas in September after an alleged domestic battery of his fiancee, Jessie Moses, though the charges were later dropped.

Jones clearly was not pleased with the reference and took to Twitter to accuse Hooker of taking a cheap shot in part because he’s jealous of the longtime UFC light heavyweight champion’s success.

@danthehangman Bro your career is simply not panning out, that’s my response. Lol

@danthehangman, every opportunity you’ve had to make a name for yourself and be closer to your boy Izzy, you dropped the ball. You can’t achieve greatness, so you hop online and attack someone who has. Sounds about right

With Hooker (21-11 MMA, 11-7 UFC) possibly on his way down to featherweight and Jones (26-1 MMA, 20-1 UFC) committed to moving up to heavyweight, an octagon meeting between the two to settle the tension won’t be in the cards. But social media could very well prove to be a fertile battleground for a rivalry that is clearly gaining steam.
