Damar Hamlin update: Bills say there’s ‘remarkable improvement’ in last 24 hours

The latest update on Damar Hamlin is promising.

Damar Hamlin has shown “remarkable improvement” in the last 24 hours, the Buffalo Bills said in a statement Thursday, citing physicians caring for him at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The team said Hamlin remains critically ill after suffering from cardiac arrest while playing in Monday night’s game, but he appears to be neurologically intact.

The update is the latest bit of good news on Hamlin’s status after a previous update from the Bills noted signs of improvement Tuesday night into Wednesday. It also came just minutes after his Bills teammate Kaiir Elam tweeted that Hamlin was awake and doing better.

Hamlin’s father, Mario Hamlin, addressed the team on a Zoom call Wednesday to update them on his son’s progress, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

ESPN’s Coley Harvey confirmed Thursday that Hamlin has been able to grip the hands of family members.

This is all great news as we keep Hamlin in our thoughts and hope for him to continue pulling through.
