The Dallas Stars (13-9-2) and San Jose Sharks (14-12-1) meet at SAP Center at San Jose Saturday for a 10:30 p.m. ET puck drop. Below, we look at the Stars vs. Sharks odds and lines and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.
Dallas is coming off a 4-0 loss at the Los Angeles Kings Thursday and is looking to avoid going winless on a three-game western swing against the Vegas Golden Knights, Kings, and Sharks. The Stars are just 4-7-1 on the road and just 1-4 in their last five away from home while yielding 4.80 goals per game over that stretch.
The Sharks are coming off a 5-2 Thursday loss to the Minnesota Wild and have lost three of their last four. A fourth-ranked San Jose penalty-killing unit (85.5%) will be matched up against a fourth-ranked Dallas power play (28.4%) in this contest.

Braden Holtby (5-5-1, 2.42 GAA, .923 SV%) vs. James Reimer (8-4-1, 2.05 GAA, .934 SV%, 1 SO)
Holtby missed a couple of weeks in mid-November with a lower-body injury. He owns a .933 SV% since his return.

Stars at Sharks odds, lines, picks and predictions
Prediction
Stars 3, Sharks 2
Money line
Dallas has not looked good over its two road setbacks this week, but some really solid hockey is up pretty close in the Stars’ rearview mirror. Dallas won 9-of-10 while outscoring foes 37-20 from Nov. 13-Dec. 6.
Reimer’s numbers are buoyed by a .939 SV% while short-handed. The Stars’ PK is 27-for-its-last-28, and any price under -125 here is worth a play.
TAKE DALLAS (-115).
Against the spread
STEER CLEAR of a puck line drowning in juice.
Over/Under
The Under is 8-1 in the Stars’ last nine games.
Both teams are at their best in their own end. Look for the Stars to be dialed in on making responsible plays after yielding 9 goals over their last two games.
With just a small lean, BACK the UNDER 5.5 (-122). Consider laying off and being ready to counter a price drop: an Under 5.5 (-115) would be an acceptable profit play.
