It was announced on Monday that Scott Tolzien was hired by the Dallas Cowboys as an assistant coach for newly hired and former Green Bay Packer Head Coach Mike McCarthy.
Tolzien a former Badger quarterback who led the Badgers to a Big Ten championship in 2010 and the 2011 Rose Bowl against TCU served as an Offensive Analyst for the Badgers this past season as he would scout Wisconsin’s opponents.
Tolzien who won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award as a senior played for four different NFL teams following his collegiate career with Wisconsin as he played six seasons in the NFL.
One of the teams that Tolzien played for in the NFL was the Packers under McCarthy for three seasons. In Tolzien’s NFL career he appeared in 10 career games making four career starts with half of them coming under McCarthy.
Tolzien threw for 1,065 yards in the NFL on 88-for-146 passing with two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown too.
