The Clemson football program heads into the 2024 season with Cade Klubnik secure as their starting quarterback, but there has been a lot of questions surrounding the backup quarterback position and how it will look for the Tigers next season.
Before meeting with the media, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney discussed the quarterback position with his coaching staff and team. He covered the rules and key points for quarterbacks, whether in the pocket or on the move.
Swinney then delved into the depth chart behind starting quarterback Cade Klubnik as the team heads into fall camp. “We have four quarterbacks that can play for us,” Swinney noted. “It’s been a while since we’ve had this depth. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses, but they all can effectively lead the team.”
Swinney highlighted the lineup, with Christopher Vizzina starting camp as the No. 2 quarterback, followed by Trent Pearman and Paul Tyson as the fourth. Swinney added that Tyson brings valuable experience and can perform effortlessly when needed.
“We have a solid group and a strong quarterback room. I have a lot of confidence in these players… We’ll see how things develop,” Swinney said.
Clemson should have some comfortability behind Klubnik in 2024
