Colorado women’s basketball underclassmen Brianna McLeod and Mikayla Johnson have each entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to Brian Howell of BuffZone.
McLeod, a 6-foot-3 sophomore forward from Canada, averaged 6.2 minutes of action in 28 games played this past season, a slight decrease from the 10.0 minutes she averaged during her freshman campaign. She recorded 1.4 points and 1.1 rebounds per game as a second-year player.
Johnson joined the Buffs midway through the 2022-23 season before making her college debut in November. The 6-foot-1 guard out of Anchorage, Alaska played in 15 games this past season and averaged 1.9 points.
Although Johnson rarely played meaningful minutes, her ball-handling abilities and overall aggression did impress. She’ll now be looking for opportunities elsewhere, however.
This mini exodus of younger talent is similar to what happened last offseason. Soon after falling to Iowa in last year’s Sweet 16, the Buffs watched class of 2022 signees Ally Fitzgerald, Lizzie Holder and Jada Wynn enter the portal.
