After decommitting from Texas earlier this week, four-star wide receiver Armani Winfield is now trending towards committing to Michigan State.
It should not come as a huge surprise, considering Winfield took a quiet official visit to Michigan State on June 4. The Spartans have been in consistent contact with him throughout his recruitment and are now emerging as the favorite.
Nine different 247Sports crystal ball predictions were entered this week in favor of Michigan State. Winfield is rated the No. 25 wide receiver in the 2022 class and the No. 32 overall recruit from the state of Texas, according to 247Sports composite.
The Longhorns now only have one wide receiver committed to their 2022 class in four-star Brenen Thompson. Five-star wide receiver Evan Stewart is arguably the top target left on Steve Sarkisian’s board and his recruitment has reportedly come down to Texas and Texas A&M.
If Texas misses out on Stewart, they could likely find help at the position via the transfer portal.
