[autotag]CR7 Motorsports[/autotag] entered the 2023 NASCAR Truck Series season with optimism that Colby Howard could elevate the organization to the next level. While Howard ran better than Blaine Perkins in 2022, it wasn’t enough to break the top-20 barrier in the point standings. The driver of the No. 9 truck had one top-5 and top-10 finish as the team made every event.
Perkins failed to make every race in 2022, so there were steps in the right direction. Grant Enfinger and Codie Rohrbaugh competing at a higher level in the past has set expectations for what drivers need to accomplish. In 2023, Howard had a decent building block, but it wasn’t enough to make a return to the No. 9 truck in 2024.
Instead, CR7 Motorsports brought Enfigner on board full-time after he almost won the 2023 Truck Series championship. Enfinger is a perfect fit in the No. 9 truck and should allow the organization to compete for race wins. If the former GMS Racing driver can carry momentum into next year, CR7 Motorsports could be a sleeper team moving forward.
