The Kansas City Chiefs have caught a bit of a break ahead of their Week 11 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
On Friday, the Cowboys placed star WR Amari Cooper on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, knocking him out of the Week 11 contest in Kansas City. Vaccination status ultimately determines how quickly a player can return from the Reserve/COVID-19 list. However, even if Cooper is vaccinated, he’d be unable to clear the protocols in time for the game.
The Cowboys were looking to have their full complement of weapons available against the Chiefs this week. They just got WR Michael Gallup back from injury, but now they’ll be down Cooper.
The #Cowboys have placed star WR Amari Cooper on the COVID-19 list, knocking him out Sunday and putting his availability for Thursday in doubt as well.

Cooper has been a big-time outlet for QB Dak Prescott over the past few seasons, leading the Cowboys in receiving yards in each of the past three seasons. This year, he is the second-most productive receiver for Dallas behind CeeDee Lamb, posting 44 receptions for 583 yards and five touchdowns.
Expect the Cowboys to rely on Gallup, Lamb, and Cedrick Wilson to pick up the slack in Cooper’s absence. The No. 1 ranked Dallas offense just got a whole lot less dynamic without Cooper on Sunday, but they’ll still pose a big challenge for Kansas City. It’ll be up to the Chiefs to take advantage of Cooper’s absence.
