The Dallas Cowboys selected Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb with the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft on Thursday evening.
Lamb (6-2, 198 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds and bench-pressed 225 pounds 11 times at the combine earlier this month. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared Lamb to Chad Johnson, who earned six Pro Bowl selections during his 12-year career in the NFL.
“Lamb has the potential to play any of the three receiver positions as a pro and should benefit greatly from the NFL’s continued movement toward college-style passing attacks,” Zierlein wrote of Lamb on NFL.com.
During his three years with the Sooners, Lamb caught 173 passes for 3,292 yards and 32 touchdowns. He also rushed for a touchdown.
Lamb was the second-best receiver in this year’s class, according to Luke Easterling’s post-combine rankings for Draft Wire.
