Cowboys News: Arms race with Chiefs, Mahomes for QB contracts

Dallas Cowboys news and notes for May 29, 2020.

The Dallas Cowboys are racing to get a deal done with Dak Prescott; not because  there is another team with their eyes on the signal caller, but because whenever the Chiefs extend Patrick Mahomes it will reset the quarterback market value like we have never seen before. The Cowboys should be happy to get a deal with Prescott done in the mid-$30 million range, before the likes of Mahomes and Deshaun Watson catapult the quarterback market.

This offseason has been unusual, so unusual the Cowboys new head coach hasn’t even stepped foot in front of the majority of his new players. The facilities being closed, combined with the virtual offseason, have made for a work-from-home Spring for the newest head coach of the Cowboys, Mike McCarthy. The Cowboys have a proven group of linebackers, how will they translate to a new defensive scheme under Mike Nolan? All that, and more, here are the Cowboys news and notes.
