Cowboys form their own Covid bubble ahead of Friday’s 1st practice

The Dallas Cowboys will be suggesting to their players to stay at the Omni Hotel located right outside The Star to create their own bubble.

The Dallas Cowboys already know it’s going to be an unprecedented season in 2020 because of the Covid-19 global pandemic. There are necessary protocols in place put in by the NFLPA and NFL to insure that all teams are as safe as possible during these tough times.

The Cowboys are going one step further. The team has strongly recommended that the players stay and form their own bubble of sorts to increase their odds of a relatively healthy training camp.

The five-star Omni Hotel which is located right next to The Star practice facility will become the new home of players, coaches and staff. It has not been deemed mandatory but heavily suggested starting Wednesday of this week.

The New Orleans Saints have implemented a similar scenario for their team and it looks like the Cowboys are piggybacking off that idea. Since the beginning of training camp, the Cowboys have had two players test positive for Covid-19 in wide receiver Jon’Vae Johnson and cornerback Saivion Smith. Both Smith and Johnson have already cleared the necessary testing protocols and have rejoined the 80-man roster.
