Cowboys 55-man roster vs Packers includes Elliott insurance

Ready to pack up the Packers’ season, the Cowboys have some reinforcements at their disposal on Sunday. A look at the active roster. | From @KDDrummondNFL

The Dallas Cowboys will be back in action in just over 24 hours from this article’s publication and not a moment too soon. After sitting out a week, it’s time to jump back into the water as they take on the Green Bay Packers in an attempt to win their third-straight contest. The club has made a couple of roster moves since the last time they saw the field. 2019 second-round pick Trysten Hill is gone, released following the game to clear a logjam at defensive tackle. The club has also welcomed back run-stuffing edge Tarell Basham.

It was widely rumored the team might look to trade Basham, who had been out since Week 1 but has been eligible to return for several games. Instead, they looked to trade Hill but found no suitors. Hill was claimed by Arizona, and will make his debut for them Sunday. Outside of activating Basham, Dallas has made a couple of callups from the practice squad. They are the same callups from Week 8, which is interesting because RB Ezekiel Elliott had been ruled out.

Elliott was listed on this week’s final injury report as questionable, but adding a fourth running back seems to indicate the team isn’t sure what he can do if he’s even going to play. He was to test the knee on Saturday, but Qadree Ollison is as good an indication as any that the knee still isn’t right.
