COVID-19 changes Vols’ basketball schedule

Tennessee’s game against Florida has been postponed.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the University of Tennessee men’s basketball team to alter its schedule again.

The No. 11 Volunteers were scheduled to host Florida on Wednesday at Thompson-Boling Arena.

The No. 22 Gators have placed a pause on its basketball activities due to coronavirus concerns and contact tracing within their program.

The Southeastern Conference announced that Florida would not play Wednesday.

Tennessee (13-4, 6-4 SEC) will still be in action.

The Vols will host Georgia Wednesday with tipoff slated for 8 p.m. EST.

A make-up date for the Florida-Tennessee contest has yet to be determined.

Tennessee, which lost to the Gators 75-49 earlier this season in Gainesville, have multiple open dates throughout the remainder of the regular season.
