The calendar year 2020 changed a lot about the college football world.

There’s the obvious: No fans at Big Ten football games, a shortened schedule and limited time to prepare in the offseason.

But there was another consequence: the changing of College Gameday as we know it from a weekly tailgate at the best game of the week to a virtual broadcast highlighted by Lee Corso’s impressive home set up.

Gameday will be back in 2021, and there is one game on Wisconsin’s schedule that very well could be the host of the show.

It’s the Badgers’ Week 4 contest against Notre Dame at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois.

Some, mainly myself, are calling the contest the “Jack Coan revenge game.” But when you look at the slate for that weekend, Wisconsin–Notre Dame is the easy choice to host the show.

So I guess the answer is no, Wisconsin and the city of Madison likely will not host College Gameday this year. But to everyone taking the 2-hour trip to Chicago for the weekend of September 25, College Gameday is likely to take the trip along with you.
