The first round of the 2023 NFL Draft is over and the Raiders made a surprising pick at No. 7 selecting Texas Tech EDGE Tyree Wilson. With the top three quarterbacks off the board, the Raiders decided to go defense with their top pick.
But will Kentucky QB Will Levis still on the board going into Round 2, could the Raiders land Levis at No. 38?
In a recent mock draft by Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports, he has the Raiders selecting Levis with their second-round choice. Here is what he had to say about that possible selection:
Levis lands with Josh McDaniels as the understudy to Jimmy Garoppolo. Shrewd choice here by the Raiders.
Adding Levis at pick No. 38 would be a fantastic value for Las Vegas and would take some of the pressure off him to start right away. He could sit behind Jimmy Garoppolo for a year or two before the Raiders give him the keys to the offense.
But will he be there at No. 38? Or will the Raiders have to make a slight trade-up to acquire him? That we don’t know as teams like the Rams, Seahawks, and Lions could all take Levis ahead of them. But keep Levis on your radar as a possible pick for the Raiders in Round 2.
