Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver has missed time due to an ankle injury. There is a suggestion that Oliver’s ankle was either re-injured or worse than previously thought.
According to Bills blogger and physical therapist known as “Banged Up Bills” on Twitter, Oliver gave a worthwhile glimpse on his status.
On Sunday, Oliver did not play in Buffalo’s 21-19 loss to the Miami Dolphins. But he did post to his own social media account on Instagram.
Oliver showed himself icing his ankle. Because of that, it was suggested that Oliver’s injury is still lingering, potentially because he was hurt again or things just haven’t yet progressed well enough for Oliver to not need the treatment:
#Bills Ed Oliver getting some cold therapy this evening.
This tells me he’s still having to manage swelling in the area.
Either he re-injured it in practice at some point or the original injury was far worse than perceived. pic.twitter.com/YO2ZYTpKVt

The update is not an official one from the team. Throughout the next week leading up to the Bills’ Week 4 meeting with the Baltimore Ravens, the team will provide updates on Oliver’s status and you can check back at Bills Wire for those.
Oliver did practice last week in a limited capacity. However, he was still ruled out early on Friday ahead of Sunday’s game.
Oliver was originally hurt in his team’s season-opening win against the Los Angeles Rams.
