Could LSU DL Mekhi Wingo play in ReliaQuest Bowl vs. Wisconsin?

Mekhi Wingo hasn’t announced his draft decision, but he reportedly practiced without limitation on Tuesday.

LSU saw one major opt-out ahead of the ReliaQuest Bowl against Wisconsin as quarterback [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag] will sit out the game to prepare for the upcoming draft.

But coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] said Daniels is the only player he expects to opt out, raising significant questions about several players facing draft decisions.

One of those is injured defensive tackle [autotag]Mekhi Wingo[/autotag]. He hasn’t announced his draft decision yet, and he missed the final five games of the season after undergoing surgery for a lower-body injury.

However, Wingo said he would return for the playoffs, and that could also include LSU’s bowl game. According to The Advocate’s Wilson Alexander, Wingo was spotted practicing on Tuesday without limitation.

Alexander also reported that other players facing draft decisions were also practicing.

If Kelly is correct about no other players opting out and Wingo is cleared, it seems he will attempt to play against the Badgers on Jan. 1.
