Could Lakers lack of need reunite Isaiah Thomas, Celtics?

This former Celtics star is hitting the open market once again, could a return be in order?

Former Boston Celtics star guard Isaiah Thomas will hit the market once again as the Los Angeles Lakers and Thomas are not going to do a second 10-day contract, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Multiple teams are interested in Thomas, according to Charania. The Celtics could be one of them should the need arise. They currently have a number of players listed on the injury report, including multiple guards.

Thomas made the most of his opportunity with the Lakers, scoring 9.3 points in 25 minutes of action per game in his short stint. Thomas scored 19 points in his season debut against the Minnesota Timberwolves and 13 two days later against the Chicago Bulls – each of which were Lakers’ losses.

The Celtics were without guards Josh Richardson and Dennis Schroder against the Milwaukee Bucks and are thin all around the roster. An acquisition like Thomas could be the boon this team needs.
