At the start of the 2022-23 NBA season, there was a little concern the Boston Celtics might have made a mistake by not coming to terms with forward Grant Williams on a rookie deal contract extension, but the former Tennessee standout’s play has fallen off noticeably midway through the season.
It could be due to an injury to his elbow the team and Williams both seem to be being secretive about, but the consistency on both ends has not reasserted itself while reserve swingman Sam Hauser’s game has taken off. Could the former Virginia player steal some of WIlliams’ playing time?
In the narrow win over the Indiana Pacers, the Charlotte native saw little floor time, prompting the hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” to dive into this question.
