Argentina battles Peru for each country’s final group stage action in the highly anticipated Copa America from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET (FS1). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Argentina vs. Peru odds, and make our best soccer bets, picks and predictions.

Argentina, as a nation, has been dominant over the last 4 years. Argentina won Copa America in 2021 with F Lionel Messi winning best player and G Emiliano Martinez winning best goalkeeper. Argentina then took down France in the World Cup Final in 2022. Argentina won all 4 friendlies leading up to Copa America, winning 3 of those 4 by multiple goals. Through its first 2 matches, Argentina beat Canada 2-0 and Chile 1-0.

Peru, which also played 4 matches leading up to the tournament, went 3-1-0 in those with the only match in which it didn’t win ending in a 0-0 draw against Paraguay. Peru drew Chile 0-0 June 21, in its first Group A action. It then lost to Canada 1-0 Tuesday, giving up the lone goal following a 58th minute red card shown to D Miguel Araujo. This is a must-win game for Peru.

Argentina vs. Peru picks and predictions

Prediction

Argentina 1, Peru 1

Moneyline (ML)

SPRINKLE DRAW (+300).

This wager is strictly on the fact that Argentina basically has the group won. Even if Canada were to win and Argentina were to lose, the latter would have to lose by several goals or Canada would have to absolutely throttled Chile in order for their standings to flip. Argentina should play competitively, but it will likely play the game at a slower pace and limit the playing time of its best talent.

Peru, on the other hand, has nothing to lose and must get a result. It showed great poise against Chile, drawing it 0-0 (Chile lost 1-0 to Argentina), and really only lost to Canada after that early 2nd-half red card. Peru is good enough to at least keep things close.

For a small wager, BET DRAW (+300).

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (-162).

The Under has been ultra hot for both teams, and that should be expected to continue here. Peru has yet to score in this tournament, while Argentina has tallied 3 goals in 2 games and hasn’t allowed a goal.

The Messi-led side is the only team in the event to not allow a goal through 2 games. Peru is 1 of 4 teams that have yet to score as well and are 1 of 8 teams (16 in total) that have allowed 1 or 0 goals.

Considering those trends, BACK UNDER 2.5 (-162).
