Cooper Mays ‘will be going’ to Florida in Week 3

Tennessee offensive lineman Cooper Mays “will be going” to Florida in Week 3.

Senior offensive lineman Cooper Mays did not play in the Tennessee’s first two games during the 2023 campaign against Virginia and Austin Peay.

Mays underwent an undisclosed medical procedure ahead of the season.

Third-year Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel met with media on Thursday. He updated Mays’ status for Saturday’s game at Florida.

“He will be going with us,” Heupel said. “He’s been really good all week long. Anticipate him being ready to play.”

The 6-foot-3, 305-pound offensive lineman has appeared in 31 games, including 23 starts, for the Vols since 2020.

Kickoff between the Vols and Gators is slated for 7 p.m. EDT on Saturday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Florida.
