The list just continues to grow for the Iowa Hawkeyes‘ star defender. Cooper DeJean continues to appear on midseason award and trophy lists as a semifinalist.
The defensive back has been a national standout for the last two seasons and most recently was named a semifinalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy.

The trophy is given out annually to the defensive player living by their acronym.
This award was won by Alabama’s Will Anderson in 2022 and Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson in 2021. This is a prestigious group to be among. Other high-profile nominees alongside DeJean this year are Colorado‘s Travis Hunter, Alabama’s Kool-Aid McKinstry and Dallas Turner, Illinois’ Jer’Zhan Newton, and Michigan’s Junior Colson.
Cooper DeJean has had an outstanding 2023 season so far. He has 41 total tackles, two interceptions, and four pass deflections. The glaring success for him isn’t necessarily in the stats but in the fear that teams show to even throw his way.
