Connaughton helps Bucks past Celtics in pivotal game 5

Playoff Pat.

How big was Wednesday night’s Game 5 between the [autotag]Milwaukee Bucks[/autotag] and Boston Celtics in the NBA’s Eastern Conference playoffs?  Take into account that teams that win Game 5 of a 2-2 best-of-7 playoff series go on to win the series 82.2 percent of the time (180-39) and it was an incredibly important one to get.

Former Notre Dame star [autotag]Pat Connaughton[/autotag] came up big for the Bucks as the defending champs outlasted the Celtics 110-107, ending the game on a 31-14 run after trailing 93-79 with just over 10 minutes to go.

Connaughton had a pair of threes midway through the fourth quarter to help Milwaukee close the gap before hitting a pair of free throws with under six seconds left to stretch the lead the 110-107.  He finished with 13 points in 31 minutes played.

The Bucks and Connaughton will look to close out the series and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday night when they host the Celtics for Game 6.
