Commanders WR Terry McLaurin day-to-day with turf toe

The Commanders hope he can play in the season opener against the Cardinals but it is uncertain still.

The Arizona Cardinals’ Week 1 opponent, the Washington Commanders, could be without their best offensive player on Sunday. Wide receiver Terry McLaurin is dealing with turf toe sustained in the preseason.

While initially there was optimism he would be back and able to play in the opener, there is uncertainty.

According to the Washington Post’s Nicki Jihabvala, McLaurin is “progressing in his recovery and is considered day to day.” While before, the initial report said the team was optimistic, now there is hope yet uncertainty.

McLaurin had 77 receptions for 1,191 yards and five touchdowns in 2022. He was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career.
