Commanders WR Jahan Dotson reaffirms belief in Sam Howell

Former UNC football wide receiver Sam Howell has earned the praise from one of his wide receivers this offseason.

Former North Carolina quarterback Sam Howell is getting his shot to be the Washington Commanders’ starting quarterback this year. It’s Howell’s second season in the league and he’s started just one game so far in his career.

As Howell battles veteran Jacoby Brissett this offseason, he’s earning the respect of his teammates already.

The latest player to compliment Howell is wide receiver Jahan Dotson. In a recent interview, Dotson was asked about the quarterback position and says he believes the Commanders have the QB situation settled.

“We’ve got our QB situation settled. I think Sam Howell is going to be our guy. I have complete faith in him…He makes throws look super effortless on the field, he’s been a great leader”

Despite just the one start, there’s hope for Howell to be the starter for years to come in Washington. He did play well in the game he started, leading the Commanders to a Week 18 win over Dallas.

Howell does have work to do to win over Ron Rivera and this coaching staff, but so far he’s off to a good start it sounds like.
