Washington loses Carson Wentz for 4-6 weeks due to a broken ring finger on his throwing hand

Carson Wentz put on a gritty performance in the Washington Commanders’ ugly win over the Chicago Bears on Thursday.

He continually protected his right hand and was flexing it.

Now, we know why.

The Commanders’ QB is lost for 4-6 weeks due to a fractured ring finger on his throwing hand.

Through six weeks, Wentz threw for 1,489 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions on 62.1% completions while taking a league-high 23 sacks.

Behind Wentz, Washington has journeyman Taylor Heinicke and fifth-round pick Sam Howell from North Carolina.
