The Washington Commanders were back on the practice field Wednesday in preparation for their Week 13 contest against the New York Giants. The Giants are a half-game ahead in the NFC East and the NFC playoff race.
The Commanders were without two starters on the practice field Wednesday in cornerback Benjamin St-Juste [ankle] and right guard Trai Turner [knee/ankle].
St-Juste missed last week’s win against the Falcons after injuring his ankle in the Week 11 win at Houston. St-Juste initially said he was fine but did not practice at all last week.
For those worrying that St-Juste is dealing with the dreaded high ankle sprain, it’s more of a mid-ankle sprain.
With St-Juste, it's not a high ankle sprain, more a mid-ankle sprain. See how it progresses this week… And the plan for Young will be to work him harder Thur and Fri to see if he can go Sunday. Playing on turf isn't a factor at all, Rivera said.

In the absence of Turner, second-year right tackle Sam Cosmi kicked inside to right guard Wednesday with Cornelius Lucas remaining at right tackle. This combination could be outstanding in the running game. Cosmi and Lucas have been rotating at right tackle since Cosmi returned from injury.
The following players were limited Wednesday:
- Tight end Logan Thomas [rib]
- Defensive end Chase Young [knee]
- Center Tyler Larsen [shoulder]
- Running back Antonio Gibson [foot]
The Giants had a lengthy injury report, but in some good news for them, rookie right tackle Evan Neal was a full participant.
