Colts vs Jaguars Week 18 inactives: Who’s in and who’s out?

The Colts announced their inactives list ahead of their Week 18 matchup vs. the Jaguars. Let’s take a look at who is in and who is out.

It’s the final game of the 2024 season for the Indianapolis Colts, who have now announced their inactives list for today’s Week 18 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

QB Anthony Richardson
DE Isaiah Land
G Dalton Tucker
LB Cameron McGrone
TE Will Mallory

Each Sunday, teams are permitted to have only 48 players active on the gameday roster. With the Colts not elevating anyone from the practice squad this week, five players needed to be inactive for this specific game.

Richardson will miss his second consecutive game while still navigating back spasms, something he discussed with reporters earlier in the week. This, of course, means that Joe Flacco will get the start, just as he did in Week 5 against the Jaguars, where he put up big passing numbers.

With Ryan Kelly available the last few weeks and the emergence of Mark Glowinski at right guard, Tucker has held an inactive role the last few games.

McGrone, meanwhile, has been active often this season and been a core special teams contributor for the Colts. However, he is one of six linebackers on the 53-man roster and with the Colts going heavy at receiver and defensive tackle today, that requires them to go light elsewhere.

With the receiver room healthy and Anthony Gould having secured his spot once again as the Colts’ return man, the Colts are again going light at tight end with Mallory being inactive. Like Adebawore, even when available his role has been small this season.

Lastly, when the Colts have been healthy at defensive end–as they are now–Land has been the odd man out.
