Colts sent convoy to private workout with QB Will Levis

Plenty of high-ranking names were on hand for Will Levis’ workout.

The Indianapolis Colts conducted a private workout with Kentucky quarterback Will Levis on Thursday, sending a convoy of high-ranking executives and coaches to Lexington.

According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the contingent included general manager Chris Ballard and head coach Shane Steichen, along with some other high-ranking names.

It’s likely that this is the same group, more or less, that has been traveling for other workouts. They did so with C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young on Monday and also put BYU’s Jaren Hall through a workout as well this week.

We should take everything we hear leading up to the draft with a grain of salt. This is the best time for the Colts to throw smokescreens. The interest in Levis is real, and he’s certainly in contention to be the Colts’ first-round pick in the draft.

But unless some news comes out that Levis moved the needle so much that he’s now the favorite, it’s best to simply take the news at face value until more information is eventually revealed.

Levis has plenty of attractive qualities that the Colts will like, including his work ethic and leadership. He has intriguing physical traits as well, and there’s certainly a chance he’s one of the final candidates to be the team’s selection on the final Thursday in April.

You can check out our scouting report on Levis, conducted by our very own Cody Manning.

We’ll be tracking the Colts’ reported interest in the 2023 draft class so be sure to keep up with latest updates via our tracker.
