Colts rule out 3 players vs. Bucs in Week 12

A trio of Colts were ruled out Friday for the Week 12 matchup.

The Indianapolis Colts ruled out three players, including two starters, ahead of the Week 12 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, head coach Shane Steichen announced Friday.

Cornerback Julius Brents (quad), tight end Drew Ogletree (foot) and center Ryan Kelly (concussion) were the trio of players ruled out on the final injury report.

Brents and Ogletree weren’t expected to play this week after failing to practice due to their injuries.

Brents hasn’t practiced since suffering his quad injury during the Week 7 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. This will lead the Colts to lean on Darrell Baker Jr. and fellow rookie Jaylon Jones to be the boundary cornerbacks in nickel packages.

Ogletree suffered his injury during the Week 9 game against the Carolina Panthers and was inactive in Week 10 against the New England Patriots.

Kelly being ruled out is a mild surprise. He suffered a concussion during the Week 10 game against the Patriots and seemed to be trending in the right direction to be cleared from the protocol after practicing in full Thursday.

However, he didn’t practice Friday, suggesting he may be dealing with a setback. Kelly is working his way back from his second concussion this season. He suffered a concussion in Week 2 and wound up missing the two games following.

The Colts will release their final injury report with designations later Friday afternoon.
