Week 1 wasn’t ideal for the Colts as they lost running back Marlon Mack for the season with an Achilles injury.
Filling in for Mack will be 2020 second-round pick Jonathan Taylor along with third-year running back Nyheim Hines.
Taylor could earn his first start on Sunday against the Vikings.
Minnesota fans are likely familiar with Taylor, a player who spent four years at Wisconsin from 2017-19.
In Week 1 against the Jaguars, Taylor was just fine. He ran nine times for 22 yards while catching six passes for 67 yards. Taylor played 26 offensive snaps in the game while Hines played 39 snaps.
For fantasy owners, we could be looking at more of a 50/50 split (or even a 60/40 split favorite Hines), but surely Taylor will play more than he was expected to in 2020.
We’ll know soon if he’ll be the running back of the future for the Colts.
In Week 1 against the Packers, the Vikings’ defense allowed a staggering 158 rushing yards.
