The Indianapolis Colts released offensive tackle Chaz Green to make room for the one waiver claim they made in tight end Noah Togiai, the team announced Sunday.
After forming their initial 53-man practice squad, the Colts had eight offensive linemen including Green. After Sunday’s waiver claims went through, the Colts used one of their claims to grab the move tight end in Togiai. Now, the Colts currently have seven offensive linemen on the active roster.

Green was somewhat of a surprise keep on the initial 53-man roster even though it didn’t last a full 24 hours. With unproven depth behind the starters, it is likely the Colts will be looking to either bring up some help from the practice squad or look to free agency.
As Trey Burton deals with a calf injury that is expected to keep him out for at least the first few weeks of the season, the Colts needed to add a tight end to help out in the passing game.
With Green now released, the Colts should be looking to add at least one more body to the offensive line, especially given how much Chris Ballard and Frank Reich talk about wanting depth up front.
More moves will likely be on the way ahead of Week 1, but the Colts officially announce the waiver claim of Togiai.
