MARCUS BRADY is being promoted from QB coach to OC for @Colts.
Rising star will replace Nick Sirianni who become Eagles head coach.— Chris Mortensen (@mortreport) January 21, 2021
The Indianapolis Colts promoted quarterbacks coach Marcus Brady to offensive coordinator on Thursday, first reported by Chris Mortensen of ESPN.
This was to be expected after former offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni was hired to be the new head coach for the Philadelphia Eagles. It was quickly learned that Brady would be the favorite to become the new offensive coordinator.
Brady has been with the Colts since Frank Reich took over as head coach in 2018. He started out as the assistant quarterbacks coach and was promoted to quarterbacks coach, a role he has held over the last two seasons.
Brady worked closely with Andrew Luck during his return from shoulder surgery, helping him have a strong season in 2018. Brady has also worked closely with Jacoby Brissett, Philip Rivers and has played a heavy role in developing Jacob Eason.
The Colts will have to find another coach to replace Brady in the quarterbacks room, but he gets a chance to shine as the offensive coordinator under Reich.
