Colts open as road underdogs to Giants in Week 17

Colts open Week 17 as modest underdogs to the Giants.

The Indianapolis Colts (4-10-1) will open Week 17 as road underdogs to the New York Giants (8-6-1) for the matchup at MetLife Stadium.

As the Giants look to clinch a playoff spot for the first time since 2016, the Colts have become the “path to the playoffs” team. Should the Giants win this week, the Colts will have allowed three consecutive teams to clinch a playoff spot by losing.

According to Tipico Sportsbook, that’s what Vegas believes will happen.

The Colts have lost five straight games and eight of their last nine. They haven’t won since Jeff Saturday’s first game as interim head coach and they continue to show the same issues since before Frank Reich was fired. In some areas, they’ve gotten much worse.

The Giants have been one of the biggest surprises this season under first-year head coach Brian Daboll. Though they lack true firepower, they’ve gotten the most out of quarterback Daniel Jones.

As the Colts solidify their spot within the top-five picks of the 2023 NFL draft, it’s difficult to see them winning this game even though there’s a chance this is a competitive game that comes down to the wire.
