Colts’ Michael Pittman Jr. in concussion protocol

Unsurprisingly, Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. is in the concussion protocol.

To no one’s surprise, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is in the concussion protocol following the 30-13 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday.

Head coach Shane Steichen spoke with the media Sunday afternoon and confirmed Pittman was in the protocol. Pittman left the game in the second quarter after taking a nasty hit from Steelers safety Damontae Kazee, who was ejected because of it.

Steichen did offer some optimism about Pittman’s status for the week, but he will certainly be one to watch.

“Obviously, Pitt (Michael Pittman Jr.) is in the protocol. Had a chance to talk to him last night. He’s doing good. We will see how the week progresses,” Steichen said.

The Colts wound up having an extremely productive day offensively despite the fact that Pittman left the game in the second quarter and didn’t return.

There’s no denying how important Pittman is to the offense so this will be a situation to monitor as the injury reports come out next week before the matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
