The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to a trade with the Atlanta Falcons that will send veteran quarterback Matt Ryan to Indianapolis, first reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
After sending 2021 starter Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders for two third-round picks, the Colts finally made their move to bring in a new starting quarterback. They are reportedly sending a 2022 third-round pick.
The news was first reported by Pelissero and confirmed by Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The No. 3 overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft, Ryan has been with the Falcons since he entered the league out of Boston College.
The 36-year-old quarterback was the NFL MVP for the 2016 season after leading the Falcons to the Super Bowl—one that resulted in a 28-3 choke to the New England Patriots.
Ryan earned an All-Pro First Team nod during that 2016 campaign while adding four Pro Bowl selections during his career (2010, 2012, 2014, 2016).
In 2021, Ryan completed 67% of his passes for 3,968 yards, 20 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and a 90.4 passer rating.
The Colts still have several needs to fill but with their quarterback now in place, they can begin building around the veteran both in free agency and the draft.
