Colorado State at Air Force odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Colorado State at Air Force odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Colorado State Rams (2-8, 2-4 Mountain West) take a trip to visit the Air Force Falcons (7-3, 3-3) Saturday. Kickoff from Falcon Stadium is set for 9 p.m. ET (FS2). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Colorado State vs. Air Force odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Rams come into this game on a 3-game losing streak, with their last loss coming in a tough 14-13 outing last Saturday vs. Wyoming. In that loss the major statistics were not as close as the score may suggest. The Rams won the yardage battle 372-236 and the first down battle 18-12, but lost the turnover battle 2-1.

The Falcons, on the other hand, come into this game on a 2-game winning streak, with their last win coming last Saturday in a 35-3 blowout vs. the University of New Mexico. In that performance it was the rushing attack, as it always is for the Falcons, that won them the game. With a total of 428 rushing yards to only 42 passing yards, the rushing attack seemed unstoppable in that win.

Colorado State at Air Force picks and predictions

Prediction

Air Force 42, Colorado State 12

Moneyline

AVOID.

The moneyline is far too risky for this game. Air Force should win this game easily, the moneyline here is not worth the reward. Anything can happen in college football, especially between conference teams that know each other very well. Air Force is by far the better team, but their reliance on their run game can be used as a weakness, unfortunately for Colorado State they don’t have the resources to stop it.

Against the spread

LEAN AIR FORCE -21.5 (-112)

Air Force is simply too good to allow this to be a close game. Their offense and defense are both better than that of Colorado State. Air Force and Colorado State have both been in games that shouldn’t have been close, but this shouldn’t be one of them. Air Force and Colorado State, while they both may be in the same conference, are not the same caliber of team.

Over/Under

BET OVER 42.5 (-108)

Colorado State simply will not be able to stop the dominant run game of Air Force. Air Force alone should be able to cover the over in this, and if Colorado State’s offense can contribute with even 1 touchdown, then the Over should be very safe. Colorado State has only scored over 17 points once this season, and I have no reason to believe they will do it again in this game.
