Colorado Rockies at Atlanta Braves odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Rockies at Braves odds and lines, with MLB expert picks and predictions.

The Colorado Rockies (56-75) square off with the Atlanta Braves (80-51) in the final game of a 3-game series Thursday at Truist Park. The game will begin at 7:20 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Rockies vs. Braves odds with MLB picks and predictions.

Season series: Braves lead 4-1

The Rockies enter Thursday’s matchup having won only 4 of their last 10 games. Colorado lost to Atlanta 3-2 Wednesday as rookie RF Michael Toglia was the lone supplier of offense for the Rockies. Toglia went 2-for-4 with a 2-run home run in the loss, hitting his 1st career HR, which came in the top off the 9th off of Braves closer Kenley Jansen.

The Braves are 6-4 in their last 10 games. DH Ronald Acuna Jr. made his return Wednesday following a 3-game absence. The superstar OF went 1-for-4 with a home run to help Atlanta secure the win at home. The Braves enter Thursday only 3 games behind the New York Mets for the NL East lead.

Rockies at Braves picks and predictions

Prediction

Braves 7, Rockies 2

Money line

Strider has made a definitive case to be the NL ROY. The only other rookie who could prevent the hard-throwing pitcher from winning the award is OF Michael Harris Jr., who also happens to play for the Braves.

This could be a lopsided game given the pitching matchup, but PASS on wagering on the money line with Atlanta having -450 odds to win.

Instead, backing the BRAVES OVER 2.5 RUNS FIRST 5 INNINGS (-127) is a solid alternative.

Run line/Against the spread

It’s not every day you see a team favored by 2.5-plus runs, but BRAVES -2.5 (-117) is unquestionably plausible given the pitching matchup. You can also go with BRAVES -1.5 FIRST 5 INNINGS (-115) in case Atlanta’s bullpen surrenders a couple of runs later in the game.

Over/Under

Even with Strider likely shutting down the Rockies, OVER 7.5 RUNS (-125) is worth taking. The Braves should have no issue producing runs against Kuhl and the Colorado bullpen at home.

The Over is 5-0 in Kuhl’s last 5 road starts against a team with a winning record and the Over has hit in his last 6 road starts. On the other hand, the Over is 6-0-1 in Strider’s last 7 starts.
