ESPN’s College GameDay broadcast Monday ahead of the College Football Playoff national championship game meant Lee Corso made his final headgear pick of the season.
No. 1 Alabama has been favored over No. 3 Ohio State since the playoff semifinal games — the Crimson Tide beat No. 4 Notre Dame and the Buckeyes beat No. 2 Clemson — almost two weeks ago. And by Monday night just before kickoff for the title game at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, Alabama was a 9.5-point favorite.
But Corso — who was broadcasting from his home studio rather than from the game with the rest of the GameDay crew — went with the underdog for his last pick of the season.
It's Corso's final pick of the season ‼️

“I’ve said it 1,000 times, and I’m going to say it again now,” Corso said before putting on the Buckeyes’ mascot’s headgear.
“Twenty-five years ago, Brutus became my first love. He was my first-ever mascot pick. I learned last week that you should remain loyal to your first love. Nothing more needs to be said. Go Brutus!”
