While the current college football season is in the middle of its bowl game schedule leading up to the College Football Playoff and the New Year’s Six games, incoming recruits had a huge week with national signing day on Wednesday, kicking off the three-day early signing period.
The early signing period has become a bigger deal than the regular signing period in February, and this week was the first opportunity for current high schoolers to sign their National Letters of Intent, telling the world where they’ll be playing football next season.
So with the end of the early signing period Friday, here’s a look at the top-25 2023 recruiting classes, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings as of Dec. 23.
Among the top-25 classes for next year, the SEC has 10 teams, the Big Ten and Big 12 have four teams apiece and the ACC and Pac-12 have three teams each. The remaining team on this list is independent Notre Dame.
