In all the Big 12 only suffered four losses in the 14 nonconference games that took place over the weekend. The slate of games began in Lawrence, Kansas, on Friday night where the Jayhawks took care of the Illinois Fighting Illini.
The worst loss of the weekend came in Houston where the Cougars fell to cross-town foe, the Rice Owls in overtime. Rice raced out to a 28-0 lead late in the second quarterback before the Cougars responded. They ultimately didn’t have enough juice to pull off the win.
