College Football News Preview 2020: Top Washington State Cougars Players

Best Washington State Cougars Offensive Player

RB Max Borghi, Jr.
Actually, All-Pac-12 tackle Abraham Lucas really might be the team’s top player, and the winner of the starting quarterback gig – let’s just guess Cammon Cooper snags it – will be the star of the show, but the 5-10, 197-pound Borghi might just be the reliable part of the puzzle the team will need early on.

He not only led the team with 817 rushing yards and 11 scores, and he also led the way with 86 grabs for 597 yards and five scores after catching 53 passes as a freshman. He caught 12 passes in the loss to Washington, and he ran for over 100 yards four times – he’ll once again be the do-it-all back.

Best Washington State Cougars Defensive Player

LB Jahad Woods, Sr.
It was hard to get a whole lot of love on the post-season teams coming from the Washington State defense, but Woods deserved more than an Honorable Mention Pac-12 nod.

The 6-1, 228-pounder followed up an 82-tackle sophomore season with 141 tackles with three sacks and ten tackles for loss as one of the clean-up guys on a D that was ripped apart way too easily. He finished up with 20 stops in the Cheez-It Bowl loss to Air Force and came up with ten tackles or more nine times.

3. S Skyler Thomas, Sr.
4. DT Will Rodgers, Sr.
5. LB Justus Rogers, Sr.
