As the college football world, including NCAA investigators, delve deeper into the Michigan sign-stealing scandal, the jokes are practically writing themselves.
The scandal is full of ridiculousness, especially as more characters come into play, such as a Michigan booster known as “Uncle T” allegedly helping finance former Michigan staffer Connor Stalions and the purported elaborate operation, per Yahoo Sports. Plus, there are now allegations that former Wolverines linebackers coach Chris Partridge, who was fired Friday, tried to hide evidence linked to Stalions.
Sign stealing in college football is very common, but what Michigan is accused of doing is on an elevated level and against NCAA rules. As some have noted, including Colorado’s Deion Sanders, it takes more than just stolen signs to win; your team still has to beat its opponent whether or not you know the play in advance.
But perhaps the Wolverines don’t want to take any chances. Saturday during No. 3 Michigan’s road game against Maryland, a Wolverines staffer attempted to block Fox’s camera angles of a team huddle by holding up a giant M flag.

The timing of these camera angles was too much for college football fans, who, of course, had jokes.
