Cole Holcomb agrees to deal with Pittsburgh Steelers

Former UNC football linebacker Cole Holcomb has agreed to a three-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers per a report.

Former North Carolina Tar Heels linebacker Cole Holcomb will have a new home for the future of his career.

After spending the first four years of his career with Washington, Holcomb is heading to Pittsburgh on a three-year deal pending a physical to play for the Steelers. Holcomb appeared in 50 games and started 48 of those games for the Commanders in four seasons.

He racked up 388 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, had 3 interceptions and a forced fumble. After being selected in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL draft, Holcomb has developed into a solid starting linebacker for the Commanders.

He now joins a Steelers defense that is among the best in the NFL and has key pieces. He fills a void in that defense and should find himself starting right away.

Holcomb also reunites with former teammate and friend Mitch Trubisky who is currently the backup for the Steelers.
