In the early stages of the season, the Chicago Bulls were one of the biggest stories in the league. Unfortunately, it was because they were one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA, limping out to a 5-14 start to the year. Since then, however, they’ve turned things around in a big way, and they are now 15-19, which is good for 10th place in the Eastern Conference.
On Saturday night, they bounced back from a loss, taking down the Joel Embiid-less Philadelphia 76ers by a score of 105-92. DeMar DeRozan, Coby White, and Andre Drummond (who pulled down 23 rebounds) led the way.
After the contest, White discussed the Bulls’ wild season turnaround.
“The season didn’t start how we wanted it to start,” White said via ESPN. “Everybody’s ready to contribute when the opportunity presents itself.”
With Zach LaVine out, White has been one of the driving forces of Chicago’s massive turnaround. The fifth-year point guard signed an extension with the Bulls this past summer and has been exceeding expectations.
Against the 76ers, White finished the game with 20 points, eight rebounds, and two assists while shooting 7-of-15 from the field and 1-of-5 from behind the three-point line.
Meanwhile, DeRozan put up 24 points, six rebounds, and five assists, and Drummond added 15 points to go along with his 23 boards.
Regardless of Embiid’s absence, this was still a solid victory for the Bulls, as they were able to get back in the win column after a tough loss to the Indiana Pacers. They get to face the 76ers once again on Tuesday.
