Coach Prime looking for more out of Colorado’s tight ends

Coach Prime is looking for more than just “serviceable” talent at TE

Colorado’s roster has been constantly changing since head coach Deion Sanders came in December and the tight end position hasn’t been immune to that movement. Between incoming transfers and roster attrition, only two scholarship TEs remain from last season with a host of walk-on talent competing for playing time.

Colorado has a rich history at the TE position, and with it being one of my favorite positions on the field to watch, I wanted to know how everything is looking for the Buffs’ 2023 crop. At Colorado’s fall sports media day on Friday, I asked Sanders how the position was looking and he said he’s looking for more out of his tight ends. His answer suggested that the Buffs are still moving pieces around to see what fits:

“We want to shake it up a little bit, it’s not shaking out right now. We want to shake it up a little bit,” Sanders said. “All those guys are doing a serviceable job. I don’t want serviceable, I want playmakers.”
