The Liga MX title is on the line when Club América and Cruz Azul meet in the second leg of the final on Sunday night.
América took a step toward a second straight title in the first leg on Thursday, managing to draw 1-1 at the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes.
Uriel Antuna opened the scoring with a ninth-minute penalty for Cruz Azul, but Julián Quiñones hit back with a close-range equalizer just seven minutes later.
Now, the top-seeded Águilas will look to make it back-to-back titles at home on Sunday. It will be the team’s final match at the Estadio Azteca before it closes for renovations ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
